Basic Training Certificate (BTC)

The BTC is a two year professional programme of teacher education. It aims to prepare teachers for the elementary stage of education. The aim of elementary education is to fulfill the basic learning of all children in an inclusive school environment bridging social & gender gaps with the active participation of the community.

The elementary teacher education programme carries different nomenclatures such as BTC, JBT & D.Ed. (Diploma in Education).Henceforth; the nomenclature of the programme shall be same across from the date of admission to the programme.

The two-year BTC diploma course is a necessary certificate for the appointment of primary teachers in  a government primary schools in Uttar Pradesh.

Two year (full time) recognised by NCTE, Govt. of India. Approved by SCERT (State Council of Education Research and Training), Lucknow, U.P. State Government.

Duration:

The BTC programme shall be of duration of two academic years. Two academic year means four semesters.

Eligibility Criteria:

Graduation Degree with at least 50 % marks. Reserved category candidates will get 5% relaxation in minimum qualifying marks.

OR

Asper NCTE & U.P. Government Norms.

Intake:

The Institute is allowed to fill fifty (50) seats in an academic year.

Admission Procedure: 

Admission shall be made on merit on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and / or in the entrance examination or any other selection process as per the policy of the State Government.

Aim of the Course:

TheInstitute has the legacy to impart & transform the candidate into trained teachers who educates & inspires the students from primary level to become a torchbearer & contribute their endeavors in Nation Building. The Institute has the state of the art infrastructure for running this course successfully & smoothly. The Institute consists of excellent faculty, well stocked library, hi-tech computer lab, art & craft cell, and other resource centers and above all rigorously focuses on research, pedagogy system, extracurricular activities and personality grooming.

 

Objectives of Course:

1. To develop the candidates with technological competency sufficient to motivate students, enhance teacher instruction, and assess student learning.

2. To develop candidates to become effective agents of change through providing primary education to students by which they will be become as an ideal citizen in the future.

3. To prepare candidates to be effective communicators and role models.

4. To develop the candidates who foster a teaching-learning environment

5. To provide early, sequential teaching experiences that incorporate growth and development concepts.

6. To prepare candidates in the content (discipline specific content and skills) knowledge of primary education.

 

7. Provide an organized, sequential curriculum that addresses the knowledge and skills of budding junior teachers.
